This is Dilip saab in 2002, just 1.5 yrs or so after that last Rajiv Shukla intrv we just blogged about in 2000, now well into his Alzeheimer’s onset from those many 12-14 months.
Always wished journos’d asked Dilip saab why he, despite being a leisurely worker in general, not averaging more than 1 film every yr in general in his youth, took such a long break, for 10 yrs from 1972-1981, where worked in just 2 films (where more than 0.5-1 min role) (note, he was just 50 yrs old then).
His answer, though not entirely decipherable, atleast for once, is now available for audience understanding.

Playfully teasing journos around with,

Wishing he could turn the tide of the times, if in his control!
